Tape Retentivity Tester with Competitive Prices
The adhesive tape retentivity tester (or shear adhesion tester) measures the holding power of pressure-sensitive adhesive (PSA) tapes by suspending a weighted tape sample vertically, recording the time it takes to fail (peel off) under constant load.
Retentivity, also known as holding power, is a critical performance parameter for any adhesive product, especially pressure-sensitive tapes and labels. It directly determines the product's ability to perform reliably over time under sustained stress, such as hanging weight or constant peeling force.
The testing process follows the static shear method, which is standardized internationally in documents like GB/T 4851 (for the Chinese market) and ASTM D3654 (the primary international method). The fundamental principle involves applying a controlled adhesive specimen to a standard substrate (e.g., a stainless steel panel) and subjecting it to a constant static load applied parallel to the bonded surfaces.
