Test Principle
The tester uses the principle of polarized light interference to check the internal stress of the glass or the birefringence effect of the crystal. As the polarizing stress meter has sensitive color plates and uses 1/4 wave plate compensation method, the instrument can not only measure the difference of the optical path of glass qualitatively or semi-quantitatively according to the interference colour sequence in the polarizing field but also gauge the internal stress accurately with wall thickness.
